GPTs

Discover the Power of GPTs

GPTs were announced by OpenAI on November 6. These are chatbots based on ChatGPT-4, accessible from the same platform.
Essentially, they are enhanced variants of ChatGPT-4. Interestingly, anyone with a ChatGPT-4 Plus subscription can create GPTs for their use and public sharing!

During the creation of GPTs, you can configure:

  • Name and image.
  • Visibility: Public GPTs listed in the official OpenAI store, accessible only via link (thus public to those who know the URL but absent from the marketplace), or private, meaning available only to the creator.
  • A set of predefined instructions that define the essence of the GPTs. Here, the creator determines the chatbot’s behavior.
  • Optionally, include some predefined special features: web browsing, allowing the chatbot to navigate the internet; dall-e, enabling the chatbot to generate images; and the Code Interpreter, allowing the execution of Python code for data processing or graph drawing.
  • Optionally, one or more actions, i.e., the integration of third-party services through API configuration.
  • Additionally, you can upload knowledge files that remain always available to the chatbot for reading and/or available for user download.

The dedicated creation page is divided into two parts. The left side is further divided into two tabs. In the first tab, you configure the assistant by chatting with it in natural language, telling it how to behave. In the right tab, there’s the manual configuration part for instructions, name, actions, and other details. In any case, everything said to the configurator is applied and reported by it in the manual configurator. On the right side of the page is the preview environment, where you can test your chatbot before publishing it.

Below, I report the list of the 4 GPTs that I have made public so far and their details, for those who want to try them.
